Virgin olive oil production reached 208,900 tonnes in 2014 in Greece, according to Faostat. This is 30.1 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, virgin olive oil production in Greece reached an all time high of 411,285 tonnes in 1997 and an all time low of 56,000 tonnes in 1962. When compared to Greece's main peers, virgin olive oil production in Albania amounted to 800 tonnes, 1,530 tonnes in Macedonia and 73,915 tonnes in Turkey in 2014.
