Greasy wool production reached 16,850 tonnes in 2014 in Afghanistan, according to Faostat. This is 6.65 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, greasy wool production in Afghanistan reached an all time high of 29,500 tonnes in 1969 and an all time low of 9,700 tonnes in 2007. When compared to Afghanistan's main peers, greasy wool production in Iran amounted to 61,250 tonnes, 42,750 tonnes in Pakistan, 6,194 tonnes in Tajikistan and 38,000 tonnes in Turkmenistan in 2014.
