Greece's Commercial Vehicles Sales (March 2020)

Sales of new commercial vehicles in Greece reached 1.14 thousand in March 2021, according to ACEA. This is 163%, or 0.706 thousand more than in the previous year. In the first three months of 2021, some 2.63 thousand vehicles were sold, up 41.4% yoy.

Sales of new light commercial vehicles reached 1.06 thousand in March, up 207% yoy. Some 0.064 thousand medium and heavy commercial vehicles were registered (down 7.25% yoy) while sales of heavy vehicles amounted to 0.037 thousand vehicles, up 19.4% yoy. Some 0.019 thousand new buses have been delivered in March in Greece, up up 0% when compared to last year.

In Europe, sales of commercial vehicles grew 88.1% to 274 thousand in March. Within the first three months of the year, the increase reached 41.4% as 2.63 thousand vehicles were registered.

Most commercial vehicles (61.9 thousand) were sold in UK, followed by France (52.6 thousand) and Germany (37.7 thousand). Most buses and coaches above 3.5 tonnes were sold in Germany, France and Italy last month.

Most commercial vehicles registered in Europe were still powered by diesel, some 92% of light commercial vehicles and 73% of heavy trucks and buses in 2020. Only 2% of new trucks and 6.1% of new buses sold in 2020 run on batteries, according to ACEA.
