Historically, foreign debt in Mozambique reached an all time high of USD 20,354 bil in 2019 and an all time low of USD 1,318 bil in 1984. When compared to Mozambique's main peers, foreign debt in Malawi amounted to USD 2,434 bil, USD 187,667 bil in South Africa, USD 19,584 bil in Tanzania and USD 27,341 bil in Zambia in 2019.
