Historically, hard coal production in Bhutan reached an all time high of 136 kt in 2008 and an all time low of 0.055 kt in 1980. When compared to Bhutan's main peers, hard coal production in Bangladesh amounted to 1,026 kt, 3,404,024 kt in China, 590,594 kt in India and 17.3 kt in Nepal in 2015.
