Hard coal production rose 5.56% to 17.3 kt in Nepal in 2015, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, hard coal production in Nepal reached an all time high of 22.0 kt in 2006 and an all time low of 1.10 kt in 1992. When compared to Nepal's main peers, hard coal production in Bangladesh amounted to 1,026 kt, 93.9 kt in Bhutan, 3,404,024 kt in China and 590,594 kt in India in 2015.
