Production of cars per 1,000 people fell 44.4% to 14.2 vehicles in France in 2020, according to ACEA.

Historically, production of cars per 1,000 people in France reached an all time high of 54.8 vehicles in 2002 and an all time low of 14.2 vehicles in 2020. When compared to France's main peers, production of cars per 1,000 people in Belgium amounted to 21.3 vehicles, 43.8 vehicles in Germany, 7.50 vehicles in Italy and 38.5 vehicles in Spain in 2020.
