Production of passenger cars rose 5.49% to 72,388 thousand in the World in 2016, according to ACEA.

Historically, production of passenger cars in the World reached an all time high of 72,388 thousand in 2016 and an all time low of 37,925 thousand in 1998. When compared to World's main peers, production of passenger cars in China amounted to 24,421 thousand, 5,747 thousand in Germany, 7,874 thousand in Japan and 3,917 thousand in USA in 2016.
