Unmanufactured tobacco production fell 1.16% to 757,514 tonnes in India in 2021, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in India reached an all time high of 830,000 tonnes in 2011 and an all time low of 293,000 tonnes in 1966. When compared to India's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Bangladesh amounted to 89,002 tonnes, 2,127,600 tonnes in China, 167,862 tonnes in Pakistan and 10,285 tonnes in Sri Lanka in 2021.
