Historically, total coal consumption in Hong Kong reached an all time high of 15,198 kt in 2014 and an all time low of 30.5 kt in 1980. When compared to Hong Kong's main peers, total coal consumption in China amounted to 4,376,326 kt, 725 kt in Singapore, 68,071 kt in Taiwan and 41,650 kt in Vietnam in 2015.
