UniCredit Bank Russia's non-performing loans reached 3.71% of total loans at the end of 2014, down from 4.16% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 27.5% in 2009 and an all time low of 0.186% in 2007.
Provision coverage amounted to 65.9% at the end of 2014, down from 72.2% compared to a year earlier.
The bank created loan loss provisions worth of 0.642% of average loans in 2014. That's compared to 0.778% of loans the bank put aside to its cost on average in the last five years.
When compared to bank's main peers, Sberbank operated at the end of 2014 with NPL ratio of 5.88% and provision coverage of 79.4%, VTB Bank with 5.77% and 116% respectively and Alfa Bank had 7.51% of bad loans covered with 77.7% by provisions at the end of 2014.
