Comparing UniCredit Bulbank with its closest peers, DSK Bank assets amounted to BGN 11,832 mil, First Investment Bank operated with BGN 9,090 mil assets and United Bulgarian Bank had total assets of BGN 6,837 mil.
Total assets of the Bulgarian banking sector amounted to BGN 92.1 bil in 2016, up 21.0% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - UniCredit Bulbank accounted for 22.1% of the sector’s assets in 2016. The top 3 companies held a 44.9% share while the five largest firms some 59.7% in 2016.
