Based on a comparison of 21 banks in Croatia in 2016, Zagrebacka Banka generated the largest revenues, followed by Privredna Banka Zagreb and Erste & Steiermarkische Bank.

Zagrebacka Banka reported total revenues of HRK 5,588 mil, up 10.4% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s revenues containing of interest, fee and other non-interest income reached an all time high of HRK 5,588 mil in 2016 and an all time low of HRK 3,099 mil in 2002. The average revenue in the last five years amounted to HRK 5,159 mil.

Comparing Zagrebacka Banka with its closest peers, Privredna Banka Zagreb generated total revenues of HRK 5,224 mil, or 5.24% of assets in 2016, Erste & Steiermarkische Bank operated with HRK 3,133 mil total income, or 4.78% revenue margin and Raiffeisenbank Croatia produced total income worth HRK 2,062 mil, or 5.83% of assets.

Croatian banking sector generated total revenues of HRK 18,995 mil in 2016, up 10.3% when compared to the previous year. As a result, the top ranked company - Zagrebacka Banka accounted for 29.4% of the sector’s total income in 2016. The top 3 companies held a 73.4% share while the five largest firms some 90.6% in 2016.
