Based on a comparison of 89 countries in 2014, Brazil ranked the highest in sugar cane production with 727,542 kt followed by India and China. On the other end of the scale was Djibouti with 0.052 kt, Spain with 0.100 kt and Oman with 1.18 kt.

Total sugar cane production reached 1,825,112 kt in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 3 % less than in the previous year and 26.8 % more than 10 years ago.
