Cattle meat production reached 988 kt in 2016 in Turkey, according to Faostat. This is 2.62 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, cattle meat production in Turkey reached an all time high of 1,015 kt in 2015 and an all time low of 90.6 kt in 1964. When compared to Turkey's main peers, cattle meat production in Bulgaria amounted to 17.5 kt, 52.5 kt in Greece, 37.8 kt in Iraq and 565 kt in Iran in 2016.
Turkey has been ranked 12th within the group of 169 countries we follow in terms of cattle meat production, 24 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
