Foreign trade as a share of GDP reached 76.9 % in 2018 in Albania, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 0.046 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Albania reached an all time high of 109 % in 1992 and an all time low of 31.6 % in 1986. When compared to Albania's main peers, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Greece amounted to 72.5 %, 82.0 % in Kosovo, 133 % in Macedonia and 110 % in Montenegro in 2018.
Albania has been ranked 85th within the group of 163 countries we follow in terms of foreign trade as a share of GDP, 17 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
