Foreign trade in services as a share of GDP reached 5.28 % in 2016 in Yemen, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 41.3 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, foreign trade in services as a share of GDP in Yemen reached an all time high of 13.4 % in 2009 and an all time low of 3.74 % in 2015. When compared to Yemen's main peers, foreign trade in services as a share of GDP in Djibouti amounted to 34.3 %, 20.4 % in Oman and 13.6 % in Saudi Arabia in 2016.
Yemen has been ranked 156th within the group of 161 countries we follow in terms of foreign trade in services as a share of GDP, 47 places behind the position seen 10 years ago.
Trade in services is the sum of service exports and imports divided by the value of GDP, all in current US dollars.
