Historically, gross capital formation as a share of GDP in Turkmenistan reached an all time high of 51.9 % in 2011 and an all time low of 18.6 % in 2007. When compared to Turkmenistan's main peers, gross capital formation as a share of GDP in Afghanistan amounted to 25.3 %, 41.5 % in Iran, 25.2 % in Kazakhstan and 28.0 % in Uzbekistan in 2012.
