Imports as a share of GDP reached 0.807 % in 2017 in Hungary, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 1.21 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, imports as a share of GDP in Hungary reached an all time high of 0.813 % in 2014 and an all time low of 0.278 % in 1992. When compared to Hungary's main peers, imports as a share of GDP in Austria amounted to 0.506 %, 0.722 % in Czech Republic, 0.503 % in Poland and 0.938 % in Slovakia in 2017.
Hungary has been ranked 12th within the group of 165 countries we follow in terms of imports as a share of GDP, 12 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
