Imports as a share of GDP reached 0.171 % in 2017 in Tanzania, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 10.3 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, imports as a share of GDP in Tanzania reached an all time high of 0.477 % in 1993 and an all time low of 0.132 % in 2000. When compared to Tanzania's main peers, imports as a share of GDP in Kenya amounted to 0.241 %, 0.727 % in Mozambique, 0.253 % in Uganda and 0.363 % in Zambia in 2017.
Tanzania has been ranked 158th within the group of 165 countries we follow in terms of imports as a share of GDP, 18 places behind the position seen 10 years ago.
