Net public debt as a share of GDP reached 43.1 % in 2019 in Slovenia, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 6.12 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, net public debt as a share of GDP in Slovenia reached an all time high of 52.3 % in 2016 and an all time low of 6.70 % in 1995. When compared to Slovenia's main peers, net public debt as a share of GDP in Austria amounted to 47.8 %, 59.3 % in Hungary and 123 % in Italy in 2019.
