Non-performing loans reached 101 BIF bil in 2017 in Burundi, according to the National Central Bank. This is 34.4 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, non-performing loans in Burundi reached an all time high of 154 BIF bil in 2016 and an all time low of 38.2 BIF bil in 2010. When compared to Burundi's main peers, non-performing loans in Rwanda amounted to 143 RWF bil and 2,028 TNS bil in Tanzania in 2017.
