Oil consumption reached 181 mil tonnnes in 2017 in Japan, according to the BP Statistical Review of World Energy. This is 1.70% less than in the previous year.
Historically, oil consumption in Japan reached an all time high of 271 mil tonnnes in 1996 and an all time low of 87.9 mil tonnnes in 1965.
