Historically, potato consumption per capita in Namibia reached an all time high of 21.7 kg in 2012 and an all time low of 4.32 kg in 1997. When compared to Namibia's main peers, potato consumption per capita in Angola amounted to 20.4 kg, 12.9 kg in Botswana, 30.7 kg in South Africa and 3.88 kg in Zimbabwe in 2013.
