Sales of new commercial vehicles in Europe reached 213 thousand in April 2021, according to ACEA. This is 200%, or 142 thousand more than in the previous year.

Some 180 thousand new light commercial vehicles were registered in April, up 236% yoy. Sales of medium vehicles reached 5.60 thousand (up 38.1% yoy) while sales of heavy vehicles amounted to 25.2 thousand vehicles, up 108% yoy. Some 2.24 thousand new buses have been delivered in April in Europe, up 82.3% when compared to last year.

Most commercial vehicles (44.4 thousand) were sold in France, followed by the UK (34.3 thousand) and Germany (31.1 thousand). Most new buses and coaches above 3.5 tonnes were registered in Germany, the UK and France last month.

In the first four months of 2021, some 843 thousand vehicles were sold, up 45.1% yoy. While most vehicles were sold in France (177 thousand) followed by the UK (143 thousand) and Germany (120 thousand), sales in Italy (up 76.3%) and Sweden (up 76.3%) performed the best compared to a year ago, according to ACEA. On the other hand, registrations in Iceland (up 3.94%), Finland and Norway (up 5.27% and up 11.3% yoy) were relatively the weakest, since the beginning of the year.
