Foreign trade as a share of GDP rose 9.31% to 113% in Georgia in 2017, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Georgia reached an all time high of 167% in 1994 and an all time low of 45.7% in 1996. When compared to Georgia's main peers, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Armenia amounted to 86.9%, 90.7% in Azerbaijan, 46.8% in Russia and 54.1% in Turkey in 2017.
