Historically, expenditure of international tourism in Malawi reached an all time high of USD 120 mil in 2017 and an all time low of USD 49.0 mil in 1998. When compared to Malawi's main peers, expenditure of international tourism in Mozambique amounted to USD 237 mil, USD 6,064 mil in South Africa, USD 899 mil in Tanzania and USD 410 mil in Zambia in 2017.
