Historically, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Macedonia reached an all time high of 139% in 2019 and an all time low of 46.4% in 1991. When compared to Macedonia's main peers, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Albania amounted to 76.9%, 125% in Bulgaria, 74.4% in Greece and 85.5% in Kosovo in 2019.
