Sales of passenger cars rose 5.91% yoy to 111 thousand in Italy in December 2023, according to ACEA. This is 20.2% less than in the previous month.

Historically, sales of passenger cars in Italy reached an all time high of 310 thousand in January 1990 and an all time low of 4.28 thousand in April 2020. When compared to Italy's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Austria amounted to 18.5 thousand, 181 thousand in France, 2.81 thousand in Slovenia and 26.9 thousand in Switzerland in December 2023.
