OTP Group employed 32,335 persons in 2016, up 1.96% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank's workforce hit an all time high of 37,487 persons in 2013 and an all time low of 8,137 in 2000.

Average cost reached CZK 493,386 per month per month per employee, 0.023% less than a year ago. This figure was CZK 331,285 per month some 10 years ago.

Comparing OTP Group with its closest peers, K&H Bank had 3,654 employees with average cost of CZK 714,491 per month per person, Budapest Bank operated with 2,914 people (and CZK 717,828 per month per employee) and Erste Bank Hungary had 2,873 employees in 2016 with cost CZK 2,873 per month per head.

FHB Bank's non-performing loans reached 26.8 of total loans at the end of 2016, up from 21.8 when compared to the previous year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 26.8 in 2016 and an all time low of 0.278 in 2003.

Provision coverage amounted to 24.7 at the end of 2016, down from 28.6 compared to a year earlier.

Comparing FHB Bank with its closest peers, CIB Bank operated at the end of 2016 with NPL ratio of 24.7 and provision coverage of 61.9, OTP Group with 14.7 and 96.8 and Budapest Bank had 14.7 of bad loans covered with 92.2 by provisions at the end of 2016.

Non-performing loans of the whole Hungary’s banking sector amounted to 4.59 of total loans in 2016, down from 5.48 when compared to the last year.

OTP Bank Hungary's loan to deposit ratio reached 53.2 at the end of 2016, down from 53.3 when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans to deposits hit an all time high of 99.6 in 2008 and an all time low of 53.2 in 2016.

Comparing OTP Bank Hungary with its closest peers, K&H Bank ended the year 2016 with loans to deposits at 55.3, MKB Bank with 56.5 and Raiffeisen Bank Hungary some 63.0 of loans to deposits at the end of 2016.

Overall, total loans of the Hungarian banking sector amounted to 78.3% of deposits at the end of 2016.

OTP Group's net interest margin amounted to 4.75 in 2016, down from 5.09 when compared to the previous year.

Historically, the bank’s net interest margin reached an all time high of 6.84 in 2004 and an all time low of 4.75 in 2016. The average margin in the last five years amounted to 5.71.

Average asset yield was 6.31 in 2016, down from 7.42 when compared to previous year. On the other hand, cost of funding amounted to 1.77 in 2016, down from 2.64.

Comparing OTP Group with its closest peers, Budapest Bank operated in 2016 with a net interest margin of 4.18 Erste Bank Hungary reached 2.86 and K&H Bank some 2.53.

The average net interest margin reached 1.90% in the Hungarian banking sector in 2016 while interest spread amounted to 3.53%.
