Bank BPH's Cost of Risk (loan loss provisions as % of total assets) amounted to 0.125% in the second quarter of 2016, down from 0.158% when compared to the previous quarter.

Historically, the bank’s cost of risk reached an all time high of 30.2% in 4Q2011 and an all time low of 0.125% in 2Q2016. The average cost of risk in the last six quarters amounted to 12.0%.

On the other hand, average asset yield was 0.694% in 2Q2016, down from 2.88% when compared to the same period last year. Cost of funding amounted to 0.235% in 2Q2016, down from 0.544%.

When compared to bank's main peers, PKO BP operated in the second quarter of 2016 with a cost of risk of 0.588% Pekao SA reached 0.321% and ING Bank Slaski some 0.116%.

Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 2Q2016, PKO BP generated the largest revenues, followed by Santander Bank Polska and Pekao SA.

PKO BP reported total revenues of PLN 2,609 mil, up 2.35% when compared to the previous quarter and up 4.87% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s revenues containing of interest, fee and other non-interest income reached an all time high of PLN 3,054 mil in 4Q2013 and an all time low of PLN 1,368 mil in 3Q2004. The average revenue in the last five years amounted to PLN 2,667 mil.

Bank's total revenues accounted for 3.83% of total assets in 2Q2016, up from 3.89% a year earlier.

When compared to the nearest peers, Santander Bank Polska generated total revenues of PLN 2,076 mil, or 5.84% of assets in 2Q2016, Pekao SA operated with PLN 2,013 mil total income, or 4.85% revenue margin and mBank produced total income worth PLN 1,203 mil, or 3.74% of assets.

Polish banking sector generated total revenues of PLN 58,684 mil in 2Q2016, up 25.3% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - PKO BP accounted for 4.45% of the sector’s total income in 2Q2016. The top 3 companies held a 11.4% share while the five largest firms some 15.4% in 2Q2016.

Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 2Q2016, Bank Millennium was the most cost efficient bank, followed by Santander Bank Polska and Pekao SA.

Bank Millennium's cost to income ratio reached 36.0% in 2Q2016, down from 50.4% when compared to the previous quarter and down from 49.9% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s costs reached an all time high of 82.8% in 3Q2009 and an all time low of 36.0% in 2Q2016.

When compared to total assets, bank's cost amounted to 1.39% in 2Q2016, up from 1.63% a year earlier.

When compared to the nearest peers, Santander Bank Polska operated in 2Q2016 with a cost to income ratio of 38.8%, Pekao SA reached 40.3% and mBank some 40.8%.

The average cost to income ratio reached 46.9% in the Polish banking sector in 2Q2016.
