UniCredit Bulbank loans reached BGN 10,873 mil, up 5.34% when compared to the last year. Historically, the bank’s loans reached an all time high of BGN 11,112 mil in 2014 and an all time low of BGN 374 mil in 2000.

When compared to the nearest peers, DSK Bank customer loans amounted to BGN 6,364 mil, First Investment Bank operated with BGN 5,045 mil loans and Eurobank Bulgaria had a loan portfolio of BGN 4,214 mil.

Bulgarian banking sector provided total customer loans of CZK 55.9 bil in 2016, up 10.3% when compared to the last year. Bulgarian Development Bank's cost to income ratio reached 20.7% in 2016, down from 29.3% when compared to the last year. Historically, the bank’s costs reached an all time high of 44.9% in 2007 and an all time low of 12.6% in 2010.

When compared to total assets, bank's cost amounted to 1.39% in 2016, down from 0.967% a year earlier.

When compared to the nearest peers, UniCredit Bulbank operated in 2016 with a cost to income ratio of 32.0%, DSK Bank reached 41.1% and United Bulgarian Bank some 41.5%.

UniCredit Bulbank made a net profit of BGN 412 mil, up 14.1% when compared to the last year. Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of BGN 412 mil in 2017 and an all time low of BGN 68.9 mil in 2001. The average profit in the last five years amounted to BGN 315 mil.

The bank generated its shareholders an average return on equity of 11.7% in the last five years with maximum at 13.5% and minimum at 7.32%.

When compared to the nearest peers, DSK Bank generated a net profit of BGN 285 mil with ROE of 17.7% in 2017, Raiffeisenbank Bulgaria netted BGN 137 mil (ROE of 14.9%) and Eurobank Bulgaria announced a net profit of BGN 136 mil implying ROE of 11.4%.
