Based on a comparison of 15 banks in Croatia in 2017, Jadranska Banka operated with the lowest loan to deposit ratio, followed by PBZ Stambena Stedionica and Istarska Kreditna Banka Umag.

Jadranska Banka's loan to deposit ratio reached 26.4 at the end of 2017, down from 31.7 when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans to deposits hit an all time high of 83.6 in 2009 and an all time low of 26.4 in 2017.

Comparing Jadranska Banka with its closest peers, PBZ Stambena Stedionica ended the year 2017 with loans to deposits at 46.8, Istarska Kreditna Banka Umag with 53.2 and Croatia Banka some 55.1 of loans to deposits at the end of 2017.

Overall, total loans of the Croatian banking sector amounted to 78.0% of deposits at the end of 2017.

Jadranska Banka's non-performing loans reached 40.0 of total loans at the end of 2017, up from 33.0 when compared to the previous year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 56.9 in 2015 and an all time low of 2.45 in 2009.

Provision coverage amounted to 25.3 at the end of 2017, up from 18.7 compared to a year earlier.

Comparing Jadranska Banka with its closest peers, Imex Banka operated at the end of 2017 with NPL ratio of 25.3 and provision coverage of 62.9, Podravska Banka with 23.5 and 54.9 and Croatia Banka had 23.1 of bad loans covered with 79.6 by provisions at the end of 2017.

Non-performing loans of the whole Croatia’s banking sector amounted to 11.2 of total loans in 2017, down from 13.6 when compared to the last year.

Zagrebacka Banka made a net profit of 1,686, up 1,224% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of 1,686 in 2016 and an all time low of -150 in 2015. The average profit in the last five years amounted to 886.

The bank generated an average return on equity of 4.92% for its shareholders in the last five years with a maximum of 9.44% and a minimum of -0.836%.

Comparing Zagrebacka Banka with its closest peers, Privredna Banka Zagreb generated a net profit of 1,660 with a ROE of 10.3% in 2016, Erste & Steiermarkische Bank netted 875 (ROE of 11.6%) and Raiffeisenbank Croatia announced a net profit of 535 giving a ROE of 11.5%.

PBZ Stambena Stedionica employed 23.0 persons in 2016, up 4.55% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank's workforce hit an all time high of 23.0 persons in 2016 and an all time low of 21.0 in 2009.

Average cost reached 19,156 per employee, 12.8% less than a year ago. This figure was some 10 years ago.

Staff accounted for 40.1% of total operating expenditures in 2016.
