Erste Bank is the second largest commercial bank in Austria. The Group was founded in 1819 as the first Austrian savings bank. Historically, the bank’s cost of risk reached an all time high of 1.78% in 3Q2014 and an all time low of -0.095% in 1Q2018. The average cost of risk in the last six quarters amounted to -0.029%.

On the other hand, average asset yield was 2.93% in 2Q2019, up from 2.92% when compared to the same period last year. Cost of funding amounted to 1.12% in 2Q2019, up from 1.03%.

When compared to bank's main peers, Raiffeisen Bank Int. operated in the second quarter of 2019 with a cost of risk of 0.007% OTP Group reached 0.118% and PKO BP some 0.391%.

Zagrebacka Banka's non-performing loans reached 11.4% of total loans at the end of 2017, down from 14.9% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 17.2% in 2014 and an all time low of 4.03% in 2007.

Provision coverage amounted to 11.2% at the end of 2017, down from 13.7% compared to a year earlier.

Comparing Zagrebacka Banka with its closest peers, DSK Bank operated at the end of 2017 with NPL ratio of 11.2% and provision coverage of 92.3%, Banca Commerciala Romana with 9.38% and 80.3% and OTP Group had 9.20% of bad loans covered with 99.3% by provisions at the end of 2017.

Historically, the bank’s revenues containing of interest, fee and other non-interest income reached an all time high of EUR 7,604 mil in 2010 and an all time low of EUR 1,172 mil in 1999. The average revenue in the last five years amounted to EUR 6,828 mil.

Bank's total revenues accounted for 3.02% of total assets in 2017, down from 3.22% a year earlier.
